DIRECTIONS TO FISHING LOCATIONS:

 

Directions to White River in Carmel 146th street

Take Allisonville North to 146th street. Turn left (west) on 146th street. Immediately after the bridge turn right into Renners Body Works. Drive around to the back and follow dirt road on far right that leads down to the bridge. Limited parking is available at the bridge.

 

Directions to S & H Campground

 

Take I 70  East to Mt. Comfort Rd. (exit 96).

Turn south (right) onto Mt. Comfort Rd. Go about 1 1/2 miles to the blinking red light.

Turn east (left) at blinking red light (W 100 N)

Go through 3 stop signs. (about 3 1/2 miles)

 

The campground is on the right just before you go over the Sugar Creek Bridge.

 

Come into the entrance and stop at the office window. Let them know you are with RW-RM and they will let you continue to come into the park.

 

The pond is directly in front of you. Park by the beige cement bldg. or at the fencerow.

From US 31 

North on 31 to Hwy 32 at Westfield.

East on 32 through Westfield and about 4 miles east to stoplight at Hague Rd.

Left on Hague Rd. to 191st St. 

Left on 191st St into park.  Bear left into parking lot.  The trail to the spillway goes behind the small brick building.  It’s very eroded. 

 

From 37

West on Hwy 32 through Noblesville to stoplight at Hague Rd.

Right on Hague Rd. to 191st St. 

Left on 191st St into park.  Bear left into parking lot.  The trail to the spillway goes behind the small brick building.  It’s very eroded. 

 

Boones Pond

North on I-65 to 133 exit. 

Turn right, go about 1/4 mile, Boones pond sign on the left.

BROOKVILLE TAILWATER:

Directions from Indianapolis

Take Hwy 52 East/South off Interstate 465 & follow to Brookville. Route 52 intersects with Hwy 1&101. Take left on 1&101, go approx 1 mile and take right on to Fairfield Ave, (just before tailwater bridge overpass). Go approx 2 tenth of a mile and the American Legion/VFW post will be on your left.  Turn here, go to bottom of the hill and turn right into the park. Go straight along tailwater on your left till you see parking lot on your right.

CANOE PORTAGE:

Get to Broad Ripple either by East Westfield Blvde, Broad Ripple Ave or North College Ave streets.

 

From College Ave. turn onto E 67 street and follow till end.

E 67street deadends into Cornell.

Take left on Cornell and follow till end.  Dirt lot for parking.

 

From E Westfield Blvd turn on to 65th street, right on Cornell and follow to end.

 

From Broad Ripple Ave turn onto E Westfield Blvd,

Turn left on 65th, right on Cornell, follow to end.

 

HAZEL DELL-WHITE RIVER:

From 96th St. between Keystone Avenue (to west) and Allisonville Rd. (to east)

Take Hazel Dell Parkway North to 106th St.

Turn right on gravel road back to Hazel Dell Landings Park. 

 

 FALL CREEK-O'MALIA'S:

Fall Creek- O’Malia Food Market- 5550 East Fall Creek Pkwy North,

Directions- off 56th street & Emerson Way

 

MONTAGE:

 

Just slightly west of Allisonville Road on 86th street. North side of 86th street directly across from Panera, take road that leads  and dead ends at Montage Catering. The water is just below montage catering parking lot. 

 

 

  SUGAR CREEK-COVERED BRIDGE AT DARLINGTON:

 

 From INDY:

1.  Take I-465 E. to 865 E. to 65 N. 
2.  Go north on I-65, take Exit 141, US. 52 West.
3.  Head northwest on US. 52 to St. Rd. 47 (There is a Dairyqueen on the left hand corner.)
4.  Turn left or East onto 47,  follow St. Rd. 47 through Thorntown and on to Darlington about 12 miles.
5.  Turn Right on Co. Rd 625 E.  follow to the end, then turn left at the T.
6.  Follow that road to the covered bridge about 1/4 mi. on the Right hand side.  Pull into the parking lot on the south side of the Bridge, north side of the road. 

This is a great area.  Both upstream and downstream are great for smallmouth bass.  As long as your feet are wet, you are in public water.

 

Summit Lake State Park:

      Either:

               I-70 East to State Rd 3 exit (near New Castle).  North on Rd 3 to US Rd 36.  Right (East) on Rd 36 to State Park sign, turn North to entrance.

       Or:

               US Rd 36 (Pendleton Pike) Northeast to Pendleton area where 36 turns East.  Follow 36 East past Rd 3 near New Castle to Park entrance.

Either:

                I-70 East to Ind. Rd 3 exit near New Castle, then North on Rd 3 to Ind. Rd 38.  Left (West) on Rd 38 to the sign for Westwood. Turn South on the county road to the entrance for Westwood Lake and Campground.

        Or:

                US Rd 36 (Pendleton Pike) to Ind. Rd 234 just North of McCordsville.  East on Rd 234 through Kennard to Ind. Rd 38. East on Rd 38 to the sign.


 

ANDERSON CITY PARK---

                I-69 North to Exit 26 (Scatterfield Rd).  North on Scatterfield 4-5 Mi.  Cross over the River then up the hill (still on Scatterfield) to the 1st road. Left on   the road about ½ mi to the Park on the South side of the road.

BIG WALNUT in HENDRICKS COUNTY~

 Had a great morning on the Big Walnut Friday Morning. What a great place to go. We put in at McCloud Nature Park in NW Hendricks County. The stream is a sand and stone bottom with some nice fish mostly smallies is what we caught but there are the typical mix of others. To get there take US 36 (Rockville Rd) west out of the city to Danville, IN turn North on ST RD 39 travel about 5 miles to CoRD 500n turn left and stay on 500 for about 7 miles you will cross ST RD 75 and drive on 75 for about 1/2 mile and then back on to the county road and follow the signs the Park is on the Right side of the road (north). Good Fishing.

 

White River-Noblesville

37 north to 32/38 in Noblesville.  left at light then go through 6 stoplights.  just past the courthouse on the left hand side is public parking.  you will pass Barly Island and an auto service station.  the public parking is beside the service station.  Park back by the river and walk down.  It is all wadeable and there is an island you can fish off of.

Falls Park

  • Turn Right to take ramp onto I-69 N toward IN-37 N - go 17.5 mi
  • Take exit #19/PENDLETON/NOBLESVILLE onto W STATE ROAD 38(IN-38) toward PENDLETON - go 0.5 mi
  • Continue on W STATE ST - go 1.4 mi
  • Turn Left on N JOHN ST - go 0.3 mi
  • Turn Right on FALLS PARK DR
  • Arrive at FALLS PARK DR, PENDLETON, on the Right

    From Indianapolis and & south & west - I-69 to Exit 5 116th ST. Take 116th Street east to Olio Road. Turn south on Olio Road and then east on 113th ST. Do NOT cross bridge over Geist Reservoir. Follow 113th St to Florida on RIGHT. Turn south on Florida Rd. Geist Park is on your right.

     

    From Greenfield, Pendleton & east - Pendleton Pike to SR 238 in Fortville. Take SR 238 NW to 113th ST. Turn west on 113th ST and follow to Florida Road. Turn south on Florida Road. Geist Park is on your right .

     

     

    LIONS PARK- ZIONSVILLE

    WEST PARK IN CARMEL

    West Park is on the north side of 116th street directly across from University High School. The address is 2700 West 116th Street which is just past the intersection of Towne Road (Township Line Road in Marion Cty) and 116th. From the east take whatever route you wish to US-31 (Meridian St) and follow to 116th St. Proceed west on 116th to 2700 W 116th. From the west take the Michigan Road (US-421) exit off I-465. Go north on Michigan Rd to your 1st traffic which is 96th street. Turn east on 96th and follow to Township Line Rd. Turn right on Township Line and follow to 116th St. West on 116th St and the park in on the right. The pond has a large wooden boardwalk that crosses the pond in two places. There is adequate room to fly cast from the boardwalk. The edges of the pond are muddy and heavily vegetated so the boardwalk is your best bet. Count on Bluegill and perhaps some bass. The boardwalk directly accesses deeper water so we can fish all depths of the pond. There is ample parking directly next to the pond.

    Directions from Indy:  Take I-70 to Terre Haute then take the US 41 North Exit 7.  You will see the large Cracker Barrel sign on the north side of the road at that exit. 

     

    From Lafayette find your favorite route to Terre Haute, since there is no easy way to get there.  Maybe take 231 South to I-70 in Cloverdale?  Once you’re on I-70 heading west,  Continue and exit onto US 41 North, Exit 7.

     

    Directions to Hawthorn Park From US 40. 

     

    Take I-70 East to SR 46 Exit number 11.  Head North on S.R. 46 it will dead end into Wabash Avenue.  Turn Rt. or East onto Wabash Avenue, go past Rose Hulman then turn left or North onto Hunt St.  Follow Hunt Street, then turn Left or West onto Old Maple Avenue.  Pull into the parking lot on the left or South side of the road.
